Ronstadt Revue, the world’s greatest celebration of the life and music of Linda Ronstadt, is coming to Crest Theatre with Special Guest, John Beland!
Linda Ronstadt earned 11 Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award and an ALMA Award. She released 24 studio albums, charted 38 U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles, 21 of which reach the Top 40, 10 of which reached the Top 10, and one that reached Number One. She had a staggering EIGHT consecutive platinum albums. Although such sales are commonplace today, Linda was the first female performer to achieve such a feat, totalling 14 certified platinum albums in all.
Unfortunately, Linda announced her retirement in 2011, revealing shortly after that she was no longer able to sing due to a diagnosis of progressive supranuclear palsy, a degenerative condition initially diagnosed as Parkinson’s disease. Since then, Linda has continued to make public appearances, published an autobiography, Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir, seen the release of a documentary based upon her memoirs, Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice, and we all await the release of an upcoming biopic about her set to star Selena Gomez. But she remains unable to sing, her beautiful voice silenced.
Ronstadt Revue keeps the legacy alive by taking its audience on a journey back to each decade of Linda’s unprecedented career, lovingly and accurately recreating all the sounds she pioneered during a 40+-year career, sounds that included country, rock, pop, American standards, jazz, and even Mariachi. John Beland, Linda’s own former bandleader, had this to say about Ronstadt Revue:
